MY UPDATED NIGHTTIME HAIR ROUTINE! | NATURAL HAIR! (LCO METHOD)

Welcome back to my channel! Today’s video is an updated nighttime hair routine. I’m currently transitioning from heat damage (1 year so far!) & a lot has changed since my last nighttime hair routine video. For this reason, I thought it was time for an update! You will notice that this video is more of a talk-through video where I explain each step. I did this because I think it’s beneficial to learn from other naturals & find your perfect combination of products/techniques to achieve your healthiest hair 🙂

I will list everything I use as well as some more explanations and information I’ve learned since my last nighttime hair routine in case you’re interested! Please LIKE this video and SUBSCRIBE if you found it helpful!

xoxo Gwen

DISCUSSION:

How often do you do this routine?
I do this routine EVERYDAY! How often you moisturize your hair will depend on your hair. For instance, is your hair just naturally dry and needs moisture more often? For me, I have damaged hair. Damaged hair is more dry, so it’s normal that I need to moisturize each day. Also, after my transition, I think I will be somewhere in the type 4 hair group, so that adds to it as well. I watch other naturals on YT, and many people only need to moisturize their hair a few times a week. Everyone’s different so see what your hair needs and provide the moisture for her lol.

How do I know if my hair is moisturized?
Moisturized hair feels supple and nourished. It will be easier to handle and feel soft to the touch. Your products should also provide good slip for detangling.

What if nothing is working?
Evaluate the rest of your routine. Do you deep condition often? Have you considered hot oil treatments (they’re great)? Do you need a trim?

ANSWERS TO PROBLEMS I’VE HAD:
My hair feels weighed down ⇒ Applied too much product. Focus on adding water rather than more product if your hair doesn’t feel moisturized. Water is moisture! Only add product as needed.
My hair dries out too quickly ⇒ Sealant isn’t heavy enough, not moisturizing often enough, or products don’t contain moisturizing ingredients.
My hair feels dry and greasy ⇒ Sealant is too heavy.

DISCLAIMER: I am a self-taught natural not a professional. All of the advice I give stems from my own research and experience.
