Once a month, Nancy Falaise closes the doors to her Montreal salon to lead a workshop for young Black girls teaching them how to care for their natural hair. Falaise and one of her workshops were the subjects of the CBC short doc Nancy’s Workshop; Nancy’s Pro Tips features her best hair care tips and tutorials that didn’t make the final cut.
In this episode, she provides a full guide to creating moisturizing, leave-in oil treatments for natural hair at home — from which oils to use (hint: it isn’t coconut) to how to apply them, and why you never want to wake up with a wet scalp.
